BRISBANE 2010

Thanks to all in Brisbane, i had a ball in the powerhouse, the staff deadly and the gigs amazing, three great gigs in an 800 seater, its a blast…..also thanks to the irish girl who came over to me after the gig with her mate from Limerick, and after her talking to me for ten minutes, then said, i didn’t want to talk to you i only wanted your photo, thats it, keep the irish misery spreading and we’ll have the whole world infected soon.
A big thank you to the people that got it in the face with the hands, can’t reveal, so if you want to know what i’m on about head to the show, so a thank you to the two 15 year old lads and their mammy and her friend, the lad who was coming, the belfast man, the two girls on friday, that thought i’d wait for them before i started the show, the drunk irish man, and finally the deer killer, oh and thanks to all at the chalkboard on friday night that will be joining me in killing Pauline Hansen…..keep reading for more updates, heading to melbourne next.

I just wanted to say your show in Brisbane was fantastic. I was sitting behind the two 15 year old rat pokers and not far from the deer killer. I am still confused about that woman from the hospital and I have never witnessed anyone as relaxed as the casual comer who turned up late. Once again, brilliant show……Jules xxx

FUNNY STUFF! Seriously my wife and I needed a good laugh and we got it on Tuesday 23rd of March.
We flew down from Newcastle NSW for the gig (my wifes 1st time in Melbourne) and here I am at 4.42am,…Thursday morning not able to sleep as my JAW IS STILL SORE FROM LAUGHING.
I love the energy and honest humour Jason delivers on stage,…what a deadset clown.
    Australia should adopt him.
THANKS JASON for a GREAT night of laughs.

Maybe you should come up mate.
There is a great old theatre up here called “The Civic Theatre” that many of the other acts come to, and quite often actually. You couldnt come here this year, so we came to you. Best money we’ve spent all year to be honest too!
    Incidently…how we learnt about you.The story goes…
My boss in Melbourne (two years ago) was at a park somewhere with his son, of which his son started playing with another child in the park. It turned out to be one of your sons, so I’d say not the one who plays up for you when changing his disgusting nappies (I’m laughing again!).
Frank my boss said he realised he was your son, and not knowing who you we’re either just chatted to you for a bit. You mentioned to him that you we’re out for the Comedy fest,…thinking you had come to just watch it.
A couple of nights later Frank spots you on the box and thought “Thats the nice bloke I was talking to at the park,…look at him he’s gone crazy’.
Long story shortened,…I met up with Frank a couple of weeks later who by now had bought one of your DVD’s, of which we watched in a motel one night instead of boozing up.
Now I was hooked immediately, so too now is my wife (who still has my soul as you decribed SOOOOOO perfectly on Tuesday night) and we cant wait for the next round.
Love ya work…keep it up. Hope to see you in Newcastle in the future!
    Dave

I too, am adicted to Jason Byrne. I “discovered” him on the tele when they showed the gala comedy show for oxfam a couple of years ago and decided that I would love to see him live, there was no talk of him coming up to the Gold Coast so I bought tickets to the comedy festival in Melbourne plus a plane ticket. It was the best show I have witnessed and I laughed so much a bit of wee came out. (sorry for being so graphic) I was intantly hooked. For the last 3 years I have flown down to the comedy festival in Melbourne just to see one of Jason’s shows. After flying down previously to the comedy festival I made the disappointing decision not to fly down this year due to making some finacial decisions. It was only by chance that I heard that there was a Brisbane comedy festival and Jason was coming to that. You have no idea how estatic I was to hear this and I wouldn’t be missing out on my annual Jason fix. After reading this back I would like it to be noted that I am not a stalker…I have been called a gag hag but never a stalker.

it doesn’t matter Julie, well done anyway

I was the nurse in the front row at chalkboard. I wonder if I am the woman from the hospital that julie was talking about. I had a blast. You were brilliant and I was at your show on the thursday night (18th) as well sitting behind the couple from the gold coast. Can’t wait to see you perform live again. :D

  9. Jason Byrne says:

    Thanks Megan
That was great fun and hopefully one day we can all kill Pauline for real, and not sure if your the nurse that other person was on about
